The Russkie was being tracked all along its Gulf incursion, rest assured. This is whats subs do mostly, they simulate combat all the time - which in their case - short of firing weapons - means skulking into places others would rather they not be.
I wouldn't be surprised if we have a sub up in the White Sea right now - and the Russians probally know all about it.
If you Google the story you'll find many articles all citing the story in The Washington Free Beacon from the OPs original link. All the stories appear in papers from one particular..... arm of the media.
I've been unable to find mention of it in any US or European (including Russian) printed press or TV media.
Of course the Russians have subs off our shores, just as we have subs off theirs. Subs are virtually undetected when they're designed right. That's their whole purpose, and has been ever since the Turtle. And many modern subs "operate" by finding a cozy spot on the bottom that isn't too far down, and sitting there for days or weeks, doing absolutely nothing... until they receive orders to launch their missiles.
The unusual thing is NOT that we didn't detect it for a month.
The unusual thing is that, after a month, we DID detect it. I'll bet that bummed the Russians out.
I think the taping of the russian naval cable in their main naval base harbor during the cold war tells alot about just what both sides are and have done in missions and are proably still doing. If attacked in these missios not sure we would even hear from either side about it;really.
Am I to believe that the USA is on top of all subs in the Gulf of Mexico at all times...
yet it wasn't aware of several errant aircraft until they hit the WTC and Pentagon ?

No the unusual thing is for anybody to read that something was "undetected for a month" and be too stupid to notice that they have just been told something that would be impossible to know were it actually true.

.
Ah, so now they needed to be on top of it at "all times" instead of just being aware of it being there undetected for an entire month.
....and you compare this to the 25minutes or so it took from time of hijacking until time of impact of something moving 500miles an hour? LMFAO.
You continue to gain zero credibility around these forums.

You can believe any idiotic thing you want. But that facile attempt at analogy simply demonstrates that you are profoundly ignorant of about a half dozen different things that would have led a smarter person to avoid it.
You have been warned by the most honest person on the hill.
