So you want Michelangelo's ceiling ripped down and sold off to museums or private dealers so the general public cannot go to see it or need to pay to see it? Why? There is enough money from people giving to charities. God said to help the poor, we are, are you?

Ooh how Christian of them!
Abandoning children in need, while playing politics.
Based on the OP, there must be ALOT of gay porn watching priests around the globe.

RC has a problem with homosexuals who skillfully lied and tricked their way into seminaries through the years. The problem has been going on for years which has led to some imposter gay priests with key positions in the very large institution. It has caused a disgrace and a mess, just as society, a society which an institution draws from..Football coach's, scout leaders and school teachers, some individuals will say anything in order to be placed in a position of trust with young guys.

The Pope has handled the situation very poorly ( re comments Ireland and other) from any perspective resulting in a church mirroring society in its state of degradation and dismay in area's which involve the sanctity of life, where damage is to be found... Leaders are responsible..There are mostly good priests as there are mostly good teachers scout people ect.... Hopefully the institution will continue its momentum against & has started implemented massive changes in these crucial areas. Individual countries can get into a serious program as well.

Pornography is a scourge on society - it must be obliterated with as much haste as possible.

The safety of our children depends on it.

Lol get real.

Religion is more dangerous to children than porn could ever be.

When do we get rid of religion?

We need some porn in this thread.

With any luck, it would give the bible thumpers a heart attack and the planet would be free of a few more schizophrenics.

Exactly. Reminds me of a great old Jon Stewart quote, "If marijuana causes hard drug use, then I guess birth causes death."

Of course you'll find that most/all sex offenders watched porn, considering nearly ALL men (and many women) have watched it at some point in their life... even I have seen a few, and they certainly didn't make me want to go rape somebody. Actually doesn't do much for me overall, but I'm clearly not their targeted audience. Anyway, porn doesn't cause sickos to sexually assault, their minds do - unfortunately, that wouldn't change even if pornography ceased to exist. As it's already been mentioned, rape has been around WAY longer than porn!

P.S. I hope the OP doesn't really think this is a gay issue, considering the majority of rapes/molestations are heterosexual in nature. I mean, try basing your opinions at least somewhat on facts, if you want to be taken seriously. I guess it was just an opportunity to bash on the gays? Nice.

While I do agree with your general point in that last sentence, I still don't know of any evidence to support the first, concerning the studies I provided.

Religion taken too far is more dangerous, sure. But in and of itself, I see no harm.

But I would compare them both on grounds of necessity. We really don't need either of these... crutches.

Religion in any context is dangerous to children.

Think about it like this.....

At some point in their childhood children learn Santa Claus doesn't really exist. Same goes for the Easter Bunny.

Why would you want to raise your children to grow up thinking Santa is real? You wouldn't. Same goes for religion and any form of "deity". Raising kids to believe fairy tales are true and factual does not result in a mentally healthy adult.
