Usually those in cities are more for same-sex marriage than those in the suburbs because cities tend to draw a more more Democratic crowd. Cities have a more diverse population and with such a transfer of idea it usually tends to draw those kinds or open minds to new ideas. The reverse is true for rural areas with suburban areas being in between.

City Data is not representative of America, however, so the results probably wont match exactly.

If it were an option, I'd choose "marriage should not be defined by the state and I prefer very rural life."
