Sounds right. Police are a socialist institution. Obviously, the police force can't be maintained with public funds. Perhaps Camden needs to privatize its security and thereby become a conservative poster child.

What say you conservatives on this forum?

Agreed. It's 1 thing having separate PD's for cities like Mesa with its 450,000 people, Tempe with its 200,000, Phoenix with its 1,400,000 and so on. The cities in Jersey near NYC are tiny so combining the PD's is smart IMHO.

Metropolitan county police is a reality in many large cities. The buck stops on the Sheriffs desk who is an elected offical. So many layers of management in municipalities its hard to finger whos to blame whem things go wrong. Im not sure but Sheriff deputies seemed to be better trained and more professional than the losers who end up on city police depts

Camden is all of 10 sq miles in size with a population of 77,344. Camden sits on the northern edge of Camden County which combined with the surrounding towns and boroughs for all intents and purposes form one contiguous metropolitan area. There is no reason for each municipality to have its own police department.

Sorry but your BOCD has failed you again.

ANYTHING beats a police force that has gone bankrupt from its own mismanagement. ANYTHING.
