The fun thing about slippery slopes is that you can't see the bottom 'til you get there.
You do know that the lawmakers want to ensure step-parents rights with that bill as well, don't know? It's to ensure a child always has a legal parent in case something happens to the parent or they are deemed unfit for reasons such as child abuse.

Or you can make it about the gay agenda or whatever the heck it is you call it and are so worried about. Even though you are, apparently, straight and in a legal marriage. So I'm never quiet sure why you're so worried about what anyone else does. I highly doubt what people in Brazil do affects you when you're sitting at home with your own family.

I say we let Brazilians choose what is right for their families and their country.

If necessary, step-parents can adopt their step-children. This is purely about the homosexual anti-marriage agenda. Everything Mark Leno does is about that.

For once I agree with hnsq. Marriage has long been a business conract between families. Now it is between individuals. Why should number matter so long as the childern are suported and the estate can be settled.

BTW - Sounds like great but exhausting fun.

It's not restricted to step-parents and doesn't ensure them any rights until they are before a judge for a custody hearing.

From the poster you were replying to link:

"[The bill] would apply to a range of family structures," explains the Associated Press, "including a man who married a woman while she was pregnant with another man's child or a lesbian couple who conceived a child with the help of a sperm donor who has stayed involved as a father."

Knowing Brazilian women, I would be happy to take more than one.

No. Leno does a great deal of work with community food banks. He's interested in promoting AIDS and Holocaust education and awareness. And he's worked with a Republican - yes a Gay man working with a Republican, can you imagine? - to make it legal to grow non-hallucinogenic hemp. (You know things like rope and clothing, building material. Hemp rocks.)

I said "as well" in my post.

Just a little education for the OP who seems to think everything is a plot by gays to destroy civilization as we know it. Never mind that gays are busy trying to live their lives, are paying taxes, taking vacations, shopping for groceries and going to parent-teacher conferences like everyone else. But easier to demonize something you don't understand and disagree with. Especially if it isn't part of your religion. So just wipe out the rights of everyone else because they don't live like you want them to.

Yes. That's worked so well for this planet.
