Privacy laws my foot. The government is above the law remember.

Hacking group leaks 1 million Apple user IDs | Technology News Blog - Yahoo! News
According to the Anonymous-allied hackers, a list of 12.4 million Apple Unique Device Identifiers (UDID) was found on an FBI agent's Dell notebook. Each UDID was associated with user names, device info, and in some cases, phone numbers, names, and addresses. It is unknown why the FBI would have such information on hand. AntiSec leaked 1,000,001 of those UDIDs to bring light to the government's data collecting effort.

I think the key phrase there is:

"It is unknown why the FBI would have such information on hand."

Seeing as how the FBI is the agency that enforces federal laws (including copyright infringement), I can see some perfectly valid reasons for that kind of information to be there. I'm not saying anything either way, just that there's no reason to jump to conclusions on this.

Of course, that won't keep the LEO haters from frothing even more than they already do, but reasonable people will wait for more information (including whether or not the info actually did come from an FBI laptop) before passing judgement.

THIS article is about Apple IDs. There's already been articles about Yahoo, Google, Linkedin and Twitter.

You see, social media is how all these global revolutions got their fuel.
You think the DHS and FBI aren't aware of that and don't monitor what's going on in the social nether ?

That's why non-technology defeats technology every time. Unfortunately, I don't think anyone in Generation Y-Work knows how to function without technological gadgetry.

Thanking....

I watch true crime shows and am always amazed how criminals search poisons and "how to kill your spouse" and similar stuff on their home computer.

Criminals are generally pretty stupid.

Plus you are seeing the ones that actually got caught so you are getting a biased view.
