The Romney family and Ryan family both benifited from goverment safety nets. Now that they are wealthy they want to take it away from people who need need it.
Basicly the republican MO....."I got mine"
tottally false
no one wants to take away the 'safety nets'
but the NEED to be REFORMED
welfare was ORIGINALLY DESIGNED to be a ""helping hand UP"""...not a cradle to grave entitlement
reform is needed...to bad the fascist liberals just dont understand

Show me where they want to take away the safety net.. Romney wants to make the safety net stronger.
The point is, they--meaning Romney and Ryan--succeeded by taking advantage of the resources that this country provided to them when they needed help, but now that they have achieved their success they are perfectly happy to slam the door behind them so no one else who finds themselves in the same position gets that same help. It's all part of the GOP motto: I got mine, screw the rest of you.
You hardly ever saw homeless in this country at all until Reagan dumped the mentally challenged out of government run institutions onto our streets. That was ruthless ! The Republicans are trying to do it again. Except now they will put not only the poor and helpless but seniors out on the streets, as well.
It certainly doesn't paint a very pretty picture.
uhm
it may have been finalized under the reagan presidency...but it was the liberals that wanted the institutions closed saying they were 'inhumane'
the homeless that have mental issues...falls squarely at the liberals feet...thinking with their heart and not their brain again
Many good people need help now and then. They become unemployed and shocked they have no job.. it takes a lot for some to apply for food stamps but when you got to eat you have to do something.. yet they take the hand out and look for work.. they know it is not a way of life , it is a safety net when one falls into a bad situation. We need jobs. Too many people need work..
yes, there is the ones who look for a hand out and make excuses to not work.. all of us have run across those who seek not to work. The turn down work..
A big difference between the two.. Obama is feeding the dems that they have rights for the handouts.. free birth control, free housing, free everything.. ask Julia on Obama's website...

Your party has had plenty of time to fill up the institutions again...but wait...why did Reagan empty them...Oh yes, he was tired of the ACLU suing over the shoddy treatment and holding people against their will. So..what to do? Build more and fill them up if that is what is needed. But the democrats would rather wring their hands and blame Reagan.....
Besides, not all homeless people are mentally ill.
Your ignorance of welfare reform is astonishing. There is a 5 year max. The idea of a lifetime of welfare was never true, but it isn't even possible under the law for it to be true.
Yet conservatives keep believing despite the reality of the change that people are on welfare for a lifetime.
You are wrong. We watched families living on the system for decades and they even passed on the legacy to their pregnant daughters. You are not being honest or you are simply ignorant of the past.
So when you get past all the bickering and insults, both sides are saying welfare should be a temporary hand up for those that need it. But y'all can't hear each other over all the bad will. Gotcha.
