It's all part of the GOP motto: I got mine, screw the rest of you.
You are delusional if you believe that lie.

It certainly doesn't paint a very pretty picture.
uhm

it may have been finalized under the reagan presidency...but it was the liberals that wanted the institutions closed saying they were 'inhumane'

the homeless that have mental issues...falls squarely at the liberals feet...thinking with their heart and not their brain again

LOL at the rest of BS your trying to pass.

There are no Democrats that want people to live in the decay in the slums. We want the poor to have a fighting chance!
Then give them school vouchers to get out of the bad schools.

Many good people need help now and then. They become unemployed and shocked they have no job.. it takes a lot for some to apply for food stamps but when you got to eat you have to do something.. yet they take the hand out and look for work.. they know it is not a way of life , it is a safety net when one falls into a bad situation. We need jobs. Too many people need work..

yes, there is the ones who look for a hand out and make excuses to not work.. all of us have run across those who seek not to work. The turn down work..

A big difference between the two.. Obama is feeding the dems that they have rights for the handouts.. free birth control, free housing, free everything.. ask Julia on Obama's website...

Your party has had plenty of time to fill up the institutions again...but wait...why did Reagan empty them...Oh yes, he was tired of the ACLU suing over the shoddy treatment and holding people against their will. So..what to do? Build more and fill them up if that is what is needed. But the democrats would rather wring their hands and blame Reagan.....
Besides, not all homeless people are mentally ill.

So who was on welfare? His parents?
Her husband was in Mexico and did not come to the US until 1912 during the revolution. There was no welfare back then.

You are wrong. We watched families living on the system for decades and they even passed on the legacy to their pregnant daughters. You are not being honest or you are simply ignorant of the past.

So when you get past all the bickering and insults, both sides are saying welfare should be a temporary hand up for those that need it. But y'all can't hear each other over all the bad will. Gotcha.
