There is no way we should be where we are at right now. We shouldve recovered much quicker and smoother than this. His nonsense of "trying a bunch of stuff" isnt working. Seems to me he's run out of "stuff" to try.

When you attack the rights of secured investors (see Chrysler) and bondholders (see GM), you freeze capital investment--which means fewer jobs. When you crush the community bank system, you crush lending--which means fewer jobs. When you take steps to make the cost of electricity "necessarily skyrocket," you hurt spending which means less production which means fewer jobs.

Who are you? The next Krugman or Stiglitz or Bernanke? I have read nothing from any leading economist who knows what we are up against that has suggested we could launch a spectacular recovery when home prices have imploded and demand has collapsed. House prices just stopped dropping this year.
After Wall Street (yep, our boys) sent a neutron bomb through the global economy, crippling demand from Dublin to Tokyo, the typical American has seen a much more marked recovery than, say, someone on Europe or Japan.
Look, I'd like to see things recover too, and they will, but it won't be fast and it won't be pretty. Anyone who claims otherwise has about a 99% change of having a great big fat conflict of interest.
You see this as an opportunity to frame the new guy. And that is just sleazy. Cop to it and cut the garbage.
It is a failed economy that started under Bush and was set up in the 90's by both parties that Obama was elected during and has failed to do anything to make better.
It is now Obamas failed economy and it will continue to be until some improvement happens under him with his policies
