Thank God its only that bad. A Mitt Romney presidency would push millions over the edge into outright homelessness, greater illness(if not death) and many, many disadvantaged people would be even worse off.

As a devout Christian, I can't stand to let that happen.

He is the President. He is supposed to be the leader. Sadly, people like you dont get that Community Organizer, great speech giver, does not equate to leadership.

There is no way we should be where we are at right now. We shouldve recovered much quicker and smoother than this. His nonsense of "trying a bunch of stuff" isnt working. Seems to me he's run out of "stuff" to try.

When you raise the cost of employing people, you end up with fewer jobs. When you raise the cost of goods and services with ridiculous amounts of regulation, you end up with lower sales--and fewer jobs. When your National Labor Relations Board tells a manufacturer that it cannot open a factory in another state, you end up with fewer jobs. When you obstruct major infrastructure projects like the Keystone Pipeline, you end up with fewer jobs. WHen your EPA undertakes a massive expansion of the Clean Air Act and shuts down a significant fraction of the country's electrical generating capacity, you end up with fewer jobs. When you attack the rights of secured investors (see Chrysler) and bondholders (see GM), you freeze capital investment--which means fewer jobs. When you crush the community bank system, you crush lending--which means fewer jobs. When you take steps to make the cost of electricity "necessarily skyrocket," you hurt spending which means less production which means fewer jobs.

Oh, yeah, Fiddlehead, Obama OWNS this failed economy. It is his creation, a direct result of his economically ignorant agenda. Ideology trumps jobs every time with this man.

This is complete crap, and you know it.

Sorry, this can be laid at the feet of many people, including your typical American who borrowed up to his eyeballs for a new boat "on the house," but trying to pin this turd on Obama is just deceitful. Obama has not raised regulations, taxes, or anything that has had any substantive effect. This whole snowjob is getting damn old.

The GOP refused to help with this recovery in any bipartisan fashion. Instead, they have used the politics of opportunism. And they are going to get shipped in November, because this mangy dog won't hunt.

Says you.

Who are you? The next Krugman or Stiglitz or Bernanke? I have read nothing from any leading economist who knows what we are up against that has suggested we could launch a spectacular recovery when home prices have imploded and demand has collapsed. House prices just stopped dropping this year.

After Wall Street (yep, our boys) sent a neutron bomb through the global economy, crippling demand from Dublin to Tokyo, the typical American has seen a much more marked recovery than, say, someone on Europe or Japan.

Look, I'd like to see things recover too, and they will, but it won't be fast and it won't be pretty. Anyone who claims otherwise has about a 99% change of having a great big fat conflict of interest.

You see this as an opportunity to frame the new guy. And that is just sleazy. Cop to it and cut the garbage.

It is a failed economy that started under Bush and was set up in the 90's by both parties that Obama was elected during and has failed to do anything to make better.

It is now Obamas failed economy and it will continue to be until some improvement happens under him with his policies

Thats how
