These types of anemic responses from the WH are getting to a new level of absurdity. Really, do they hold the American intellect in such disdain that they genuinely believe that anyone would believe such spin?? I try to be pretty even handed with my viewpoints on events but, good lord, this is just too much!

That video was used to incite the people. Egypt showed that clip on their TV just last Saturday.
Islamists are leaving their Friday prayers and going to Embassies in protest and violence.

All the chants are against America and Obama and demand a US apology for that film.

Carney just basically excused those radicals for murdering the US Ambassador.

Trying to deflect. They care more about protecting their policy and own butts. This is not about a movie. You have to be naive to believe that.

Where is the press? Did they just him get away with that ridiculous statement?

Short answer yes. Anything can be overcome by Obama flashing his pearly whites and changing the subject to Mitt Romney's "gaffes".

Carney continues to deflect even as Senators were getting a briefing otherwise. If Ol'Baracky were still a Senator, he might know better.

Powerful Republican thug....

NO! ! ! Wait....
White House asked YouTube to review anti-Muslim film

Where's Tipper Gore...? someone needs to squelch free speech.

this is a very troublesome response from the White House.. now the terrorists will use this tool ( an offensive video) to kill Americans. If the White House accepts this as the reason.. the video,, the muslims will again kill and blame it on an other video or offensive material to justify themselves.

Obama and his white house staff should not have accepted that as a reason. There is NO REASON to kill Americans. Obama and his administration is sending a very bad message and an opened door to terrorism. They need to grow some brains!

Should the White House, on behalf of all Americans, really be taking responsibility for a video created by one fringe lunatic?

No, it shouldn't. Nor should it apologize for that video. Or persuade YouTube to remove the video from the viewing public.

That video has been around the web for 4 months.

But only NOW it's become the subject of all this attention?

On the anniversary of 9/11?

Those psychonuts won't be satisfied until we arrest the bozos who created the film and cut their heads off!

They're marked like Salman Rushdie, and Theo VanGogh.
