They didn't ban drinks at all. They banned big cups, that's what they banned.

IIRC, the ban was on any drink larger than 16 ounces.

Does this mean all the bridges, tunnels and airports leading into NYC will look like the border crossings between America and Mexico?

I guess the next step is to ban sugar, then we'll start seeing gangsta's hanging out in groups in the hood selling sugar by the dime bag....

Let alone sugar, maybe the next step is to ban people from choosing who they want to marry! Wait, that's something a lot of the people complaining about this already support. Because banning ridiculously sized cups of soda (not the soda itself) is a tyrannic act worthy of a "nanny state", but interfering with people's marriage choices is the stuff freedom is made of.
