Lol, Dan Quayle was so big on family values his son Ben, running for Congress, showed his kids in his campaign ads telling everyone what a family man he was. Proud papa. Problem was.... he had no kids. Nothing says old-fashioned family values like using a couple of kids who aren't yours to try and fool the electorate.
We weren't talking about his son. And we were talking about what Dan Quayle said that he was demonized for 20 years ago. Some left leaning folks are honest enough to admit he was right without dodging the issue, as you have.

I did read the link and it is, shockingly, useless.
to wit
I don't know how you can say the very things you quoted from the link were useless. They are very telling. Out of wedlock child bearing has HUGE impacts on income inequality as well as other social issues. I can't believe anyone would say those facts are useless.
He wasn't right about something dumb or unimportant. He was right about something that has had a huge negative impact on our country. Furthermore, Sawhill has vindicated what a lot of other people have been saying for a long time. Since she's from a left leaning think tank, her research discredits those who have written off the this issue as something that only disturbs right wing nut jobs.
I know that. And, I also know that Christian's are just saved sinners and they don't stop sinning just because they got saved.
The point is that we Believers have no right to point our fingers at anybody else or to sit in judgment of the failings of others and certainly not to feel superior because OUR sins are not as "bad" as THEIRS.
It's not about feeling superior. It's about fixing a serious social problem. Yes, as with any social issue, there are always those who are smug/superior about it. But the 41% out of wedlock birth rate is something that should concern us all because it has far reaching social and economic effects, as research from Sawhill and others has confirmed.
Who gave you the right to point your finger at anyone?
Those who ask society to help support them.

It's no secret that single parenthood is far from the ideal. Heck, ask any single parent!
But, to disparage those folks who are doing the best they can from some misguided sense of moral duty is no different than continually telling overweight people they need to lose weight for their own good, as if they're not bright enough to see that for themselves. It's hypocritical, judgmental and is exactly what the Pharisee's did.
What did Jesus have to say about the Pharisee's?
The idea is to get across the idea before it happens. Seems to be acceptable today to do concerning 20oz soda's.
I'll listen to a religious perspective on this once the fathers of the church with apostolic succession stop buggering children and the leaders of said church stop covering it up.
i thought you were going to say it really was spelled potatoe
lol
