If a military dictatorship is next in line, what kind will it be? I actually think it could be a cursed "moderate".

When civilizations go bad, they go bad in different ways. Some turn to military dictators. Some turn to ideological fanaticism. Some dissolve and divide into perpetually warring factions. Some are overrun by foreign enemies. What's next for America?

Roundups under Marshall Law, Fema camps, mandatory vaccines, virus's that they will tell us are from Aliens. But first I expect food rationing, dollar crashing.

BBC News - Two more Germans held over Dominican Republic 'sect' shootout

Yet more crazy doomsday nutters turn violent and start trying to kill people. Seriously, this obsession with the end of days and the end of the world as we know it needs to stop. It just gets the wackos worked up.

The country does seem to be getting divided more and more into two main groups.

The liberals who believe that there can be no limit on how much national debt and that unlimited numbers of people can be added to our many welfare programs and there would never be any downside. Unemployment handouts can go on forever, unlimited numbers of immigrants can come to be added to our very generous welfare handouts.

All is bliss. It's like a utopia - no limits of any kind needed, the government can merrily go on spending money that we don't have, no need to worry. Not only that -- there can be unlimited free health care for all, anyone in the world who wants to come here can count on having nothing but the best health care -- and all free. Every homeless person will be provided a nice home also. Just continue to elect liberals and it's going to be a big spending frenzy for all eternity.

The other group believes that cannot be unlimited debt added. And so they see a problem with fast growing welfare rolls, and so many getting a big life-long free ride.

The United States won't collapse as a country, might economically, but with economic collapse comes growth.

The people who are self-sufficient will do just fine. In fact they will thrive.

Go Amish.

Really? Like who? Personally, and factually, you have it backwards.

So, who is the dictator of Great, Britain, France, Spain, Germany, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Australia, India, Brazil, Chile, Argentina, Paraguay, Bolivia, Jamaica, or Barbados?

What a one sided self-absorbed view you have. Where is my barf smilie? Sure Conservatives hold no fault in the current situation, and are perfect little angels who want lots of freedom and small government. No, you want big big big government directed at people you hate, and you want massive spending on wars, and massive tax cuts for the rich.

And it's amusing you blame this on liberals. The United States is by world standards ultra conservative. We don't have too many true liberals here. Obama is no where close to a liberal.

Must be nice to live in your superiority complex bubble.

The Amish would probably thrive because they still practice that old family farming and they'd find plenty of customers.

I think "collapse" might mean different things to different people. But what happens when our government cannot pile on a few more trillion in debt?

Is there really no limit on the debt? Who or what backs that debt now? Or does the government just go on writing bad checks, checks based on nothing - to it's employees and creditors?

I think we're already living on borrowed time because that $16 trillion debt will soon double, triple and it's never going to be repaid. I think at some point, a line will be crossed and something is going to give.
