I can tell you already that this storm is going to be the most expensive in history. Far exceeding the costs of Katrina because lets face it... one flooded property in lets say Stone Harbor, NJ is worth more than an entire block of homes in the Mississippi delta.
We can thank the great socialist LBJ and his National Flood Insurance program for saddling the struggling folks in middle America with the bill to replace beach front vacation homes of Northeast libs.

Hate to tell you but many of these million dollar homes are owned by republicans.
This is like when the fires in Hollywood a while back destroyed multi million dollar properties and the oeners were screaming for Govt. handouts to rebuild them.
Hope it goes ok for you, it's getting worse by the hour so stay safe.
Thanks. We're going to see a lot of rain, a lot of wind and likely power outages. The projected storm surge is 1 to 3 feet. TS Isabel's surge in 2003 was 12-14 feet.
Unless something goes really crazy MD is going to miss a lot of the bad stuff.
You're getting hammered, though, so you watch out, too.

Yeah, we are. O.C Maryland has parts of it under water though. Route 1 going from Fenwick to O.C is also closed and has been since yesterday. My in laws place off of the Indian river bay already has 4 ft of water in it and its on piers, just the lower level though. Again good luck to you the wind is going to be bad later.
I see nothing wrong with bailing out the people who actually pay taxes.
And it's really not a "bailout". People in the NFIP pay premiums for it just like people pay for Homeowner's health and car insurances.
