Kanye West is the one who made the offhanded comment about George Bush not liking black people in the wake of Katrina. Maybe Perryman should address his message to him...

Will movie stars, entertainers and CNN hold a telethon to raise money for the victims of Sandy? It's been two godamn days... We don't even know the extent of the damage at this point. The situation in New Orleans wasn't even at it's worst until a few days after the storm. At the same time look at all the threads on CityData of people mocking the plight of people stuck in the storm over the last couple days.
And he's a damn fool if he thinks only white people are being somehow effected by this storm... It hit New York City and some of the more diverse metros in the US...
The truth is that the Bush Administration's response to Katrina wasn't that good. It wasn't simply racism maybe as other's have claimed, but the response was a muddled mess at the time, tied up with the failure of the local/state governments in Louisiana that contributed to that clusterfark. You'll notice that since that time, government response to natural disasters has generally been a little faster and more on top of things to avoid a similar situation to Katrina.
But Perryman's sort of an interesting character--he's the same guy that tries to sue the Democratic Party for slavery and Jim Crow laws as well as Andrew Johnson not signing Senate Bill 60 every few years.
ITA with the above, especially the bolded paragraph. As a black person, I will say that I didn't think the lack of response had anything to do with the large amount of black people affected by Katrina, it was to due with the ineptitude of the administration of both GW Bush and the local and state governments in LA, MS, and AL.

What is a "classic black man?" My dad is lighter than Obama and he is not even half white. I guess he doesn't look classic to you. Though he'd probably scare you if you saw him since he is 6'6" and 250lbs and is a pretty loud dude.
And most black people are not "quietly taught by grandmothers" that whites are our enemies. I will admit my own grandmother didn't have a particular fondness for white people, but she did not consider them her enemies, if anything she considered most white people to be arrogant and ignorant, especially about black people and if you are white, I guess you prove her points well. FWIW, I don't subscribe to her beliefs specifically about whites, I see ignorance and arrogance in all people on an equal basis
And FWIW, Obama's grandmother was white! I guess she didn't get the memo that she was to teach him to see all whites as enemies. The things you people come up with are ridiculous. I am glad you are up in Canada with all your ignorant prejudices. Especially the last part about selling out - to you if a black person sucessfully achieves some sort of goal, they are sell outs. We can only be legitimate if we are high school drop out, baby daddies/mamas, on welfare, committing all the crime in the country huh?
