Same here. The real estate friends I have think that things are beginning to look up in terms of the housing market. The malls have been packed with people - willing to spend some of their hard-earned money. My company is hiring like crazy.

YES; I think things are getting better.

it depends on who is president. Because obama is in office, we democrats think the economy is getting better and republicans believe the opposite. If a republican was in office, republicans would think the economy is getting better and democrats would believe the opposite.

The economy is improving, the unemployment situation is not, and honestly will not recover the way we want. We are in a massive correction right now.

What's the reference point? Better than the bottom in 2009? Sure, marginally. But we're 3+ years past that and we haven't recovered to a point that matches the worst year of the 20 that preceded the Great Recession. We have no more people working than we did at the end of 2005, but our population has grown by 15 million people. "Better, but not nearly 'better enough'" would be my response.

Not here... Husband's company has cut COL raises & no bonus $. They just had open enrollment for benefits and all plans increased and some benefits have been taken away.
Not to mention the cuts that are happening in his company due to the medical device tax that OBAMACARE is going to impose.
So, nope, not getting better for us at all.

Not always... I am a registered Democrat, I voted for Obama. As my previous post states, we don't feel anything has improved for us- at all.
I am, for very 1st time in my life, probably going to vote Republican tomorrow... And not because I believe in everything Mitt Romney has platformed, but I am tired of give, give, give to help others and now we have taken such a huge hit with everything and my husband is at risk of loosing more.
So, this DEM is not feeling as though anything has improved. Sorry.

If your head is in the turned on oven and your feet are in an ice bucket, on average you feel OK!
