I am still waiting for an answer of what society will do if there were more than 1 million unwanted babies EVERY YEAR. I have not yet heard from one anti-choice poster on here that has adopted. When are you going to put your money where you mouth is?

And I bet you are against the war in Iraq because our boys are dieing for no reason, but way less than 179,000 have died in the whole war, but 179,000 lives of a different issue is just a grain of sand to you. Nice.

If they lightened up on the strick qualifications of the adoption process, there would be a million happy couples in the USA.
And if you want to use a comparison, there are WAY more than a million unwanted illegal immigrants we are dealing with right now, but we are coping.

Actually, the literature attached states that RU486 is effective for 6 or 7 weeks after contraception. There is another product commonly called "the morning after pill", is it possible that is what only works the first 72 hours?

What is the Morning After Pill?

INCIDENCE OF ABORTION

Facts on Induced Abortion in the United States

Nearly half of pregnancies among American women are unintended, and four in 10 of these are terminated by abortion.[1] Twenty-four percent of all pregnancies (excluding miscarriages) end in abortion.[2]
About half of American women have experienced an unintended pregnancy, and at current rates more than one-third will have had an abortion by age 45.[5]

and another one from an ANTI-CHOICE site...

Abortion Statistics

The following is a list of useful abortion statistics as well as some facts on abortifacients. All abortion numbers are derived from pro-abortion sources courtesy of The Alan Guttmacher Institute and Planned Parenthood's Family Planning Perspectives.

UNITED STATES

Number of abortions per year: 1.37 Million (1996)
Number of abortions per day: Approximately 3,700

Who's having abortions (age)?
52% of women obtaining abortions in the U.S. are younger than 25: Women aged 20-24 obtain 32% of all abortions; Teenagers obtain 20% and girls under 15 account for 1.2%.

Who's having abortions (race)?
While white women obtain 60% of all abortions, their abortion rate is well below that of minority women. Black women are more than 3 times as likely as white women to have an abortion, and Hispanic women are roughly 2 times as likely.

Who's having abortions (marital status)?
64.4% of all abortions are performed on never-married women; Married women account for 18.4% of all abortions and divorced women obtain 9.4%.

Who's having abortions (religion)?
Women identifying themselves as Protestants obtain 37.4% of all abortions in the U.S.; Catholic women account for 31.3%, Jewish women account for 1.3%, and women with no religious affiliation obtain 23.7% of all abortions. 18% of all abortions are performed on women who identify themselves as "Born-again/Evangelical".

Why women have abortions
1% of all abortions occur because of rape or incest; 6% of abortions occur because of potential health problems regarding either the mother or child, and 93% of all abortions occur for social reasons (i.e. the child is unwanted or inconvenient).

At what gestational ages are abortions performed:
52% of all abortions occur before the 9th week of pregnancy, 25% happen between the 9th & 10th week, 12% happen between the 11th and 12th week, 6% happen between the 13th & 15th week, 4% happen between the 16th & 20th week, and 1% of all abortions (16,450/yr.) happen after the 20th week of pregnancy.

Likelihood of abortion:
An estimated 43% of all women will have at least 1 abortion by the time they are 45 years old.

and look at the life threatening reasons for abortions!

On average, women give four reasons for choosing abortion. Three-fourths of women cite concern for or responsibility to other individuals; three-fourths say they cannot afford a child; three-fourths say that having a baby would interfere with work, school or the ability to care for dependents; and half say they do not want to be a single parent or are having problems with their husband or partner.

If you are against deporting illegal immigrant does that mean you must take them into your home? If you are against the death penality does that mean you should have to support a murderer for what would now be his extra time in prison? This kind of argument is silly at best.

How would the anti-choice crowd feel if many of those illegal immigrants were pregnant seeking abortions? Would the anti-choice crowd be for it since it would get rid of the "anchor baby"?

citigirl, just wondering what you believe is wrong with any of these reasons. I believe these are undoubtedly reasonable decisions for the woman making them even if they are not reasons someone else might make.

Also the pro- abortionist are so h*ll bent on girls getting an abortion they fight against parental notifacation. You would think they would they and convince a yaoung scared an confused child to go to their parents, the people that love them instead of a stranger with his killing tools in his hands.

A baby is a baby, a life is a life, nationality has no bearing on this conversation. And if I am not mistaken, if they gave up said "anchor baby" they would no longer eligible to stay.
