BBC News - Puerto Rico wants to become the 51st state of the US

Voters in Puerto Rico have supported a non-binding referendum to become a full US state.
The measure will require approval from the US Congress, but President Barack Obama has said he will respect the vote.

Hopefully Americans will learn Spanish now without seeing it as a threat to their national identity. Being bilingual is a definite advantage in the job market. Now jobs are so hard to find, it is important.

The future of the US is going to see it integrated with and a part of Latin America

We just got back from PR.
Do you realize they pay NO federal taxes but are entitled to all the government hand out programs?
Everyone we talked to do not want to become a state.
It's being reported that the ballot was confusing.

Yes I knew that. And that's why is surprising that PR did vote to become a state.
they are on the losing end now.

One more reason they should be set adrift ,no morefree loaders who don't pay taxes.
