I'm black and never consider reparations simply because logistically it would be a nightmare to sort out who was a decendant of slavery and who is'nt. The other reason is that by doing that in a time of financial strife it would be unwise eventhough the majority of the blacks would put it right back into the economy as soon as they got it. Finally, this election has proven that there is still alot of resentment over the president being black and it would give another reason for some whites act even nuttier thus creating a larger racial divide.
Some Blacks came here as free people like Obama's dad and there were free "people of color" before the Civil War. I Repped you.
My ancestors on my Mother's side owned slaves and lost them when they were freed. Will my family get some of that compensation? We lost our inheritance. Fair is fair. Perhaps a tax deduction.

"I am a man of moral convictions, and I will not rest until African-Americans receive the fair monetary compensation they deserve. Plus hundreds of years of compounded interest.
