The "47"%" won the election...Obama had an overwhelming majority of the poorest and least educated in America. Romeny was primarily supported by anyone earning approximately 50k or more with a college degree. .
Polling data showed Romney did have a slight edge amongst those with a BA or BS degree, while Obama won, by larger margins, those with a Masters or higher level degree.
He wopn for the same reason so mnay Grek politcan won in past eyars. promisig more for no work on the pulbic funded system.IGrece polician were basic no different and one out promise the other to egt elcted. It destroyed the private sector and build a public sector that produced nothig but regualtions and no welath to trickdown over time. Its alos creat a blasck ecomy because that was the path to gettig ahred and work rules an dhoues allowed it.Now they are welfare state dependent on others to stop total collapse which is likely anyway i the near future. the other states only want o prepare for the event.

True, but those with post graduate degrees make up less than 3% of Americans. It's a very marginal number. Keep in mind he was also overwhelmingly supported by those with a high diploma or less.
There were many variables. His support for gay marriage and women's reproductive rights were defiantly a bonus. The affordable healthcare act was also a major reason. He had much of the young vote, minorities, college educated, women and a good number of white men. He is the only president other than Roosevelt to win the popular vote twice. So it was no simple thing. He also won in many Red states metro areas, big cities.

Actual, all college grads are still a minority..under 30% total US.
High school grad is still the largest voting block.
But the Latino gap was startling. For the first time in history, a 10% slice of the electorate comprised more than the full US margin, in race decided by between 2 and 3 points overall.

Yeah, they are all a minority...but the ratio of those with only a bachelor degree to those with post graduate degrees in perhaps 3-4 times the difference.
Also keep in mind that Romney won the majority of all Americans earning 50k or more; Obama 49k or less.
Obama won those with a high school diploma or less at 63%.
Romney won somwhere in the ballpark of 28% of the Latino vote...if the trends remain consistent, my guess is that he won a large number of those as well with a college degree and an income above 50k.
I disagree with some on the GOP platform...it wasn't necessarily the Latino vote that did them in, but the "47%" that crosses all racial barriers that overwhelmingly wanted Obama in office.
He was correct in that secret video where he was telling donors that there was "nothing I could do to win them over"...and his predictions were pretty accurate.
Social issues energized young voters and brought them out in greater numbers than in 2008, something nobody expected. The people on welfare or looking for a handout are always going to vote Democrat and always have. It was the youth voters, voting in support of same sex marriage and abortion, who made the difference and won the election for Obama.
70% of food stamp recipients vote republican. You sure love to whine about gays and abortion.

He actually won a large chunk of the 47%; 2 of the largest subsets of which are retirees and vets/active military. He would have lost most of the EITC subset of the 47%.
His big error was in thinking Obama's 48% at polling time and the 47% were the same group. Some parts were (EITC), some weren't (retirees plus vets). In connecting the two, polling experts estimate you alienate another 5-10% of independents who view the comments as dismissive of too much of America.
Who says he really won? He's a sham from the start and still is. He was put in power to be a useful idiot and he does what he's told to do. Only fools think he'll ever do anything to help anybody but himself and his masters.
I guess this is the question everyone will ask in the coming weeks.
Did Obama win because of his support of gay marriage and women's reproductive rights?
Or did Obama win because he was more in touch with the middle class, while Romney was perceived as an elitist?
Poor needing food stamps over jobs . Bread and butter as long as someone else pays
