Yes -- because for a mere $149 they can get a border crossing card that lets them simply walk on over to pick up their welfare checks and food stamps and use the free hospitals and schools.

There's no reason to actually walk through any desert and it's plenty easy for them to come over on that laser visa crossing card and go anywhere and stay as long as they like. That $149 card lets them come and go for 10 years, then they can just buy another.

Another advantage of that cheap border crossing card is that it lets the illegals claim they came in legally -- which of course they easily did -- but are simply visa-overstayers.

You're a sanctuary state with the most generous welfare benefits in the nation, and nosebleed-induced housing prices cause by environmental extremism.

There are areas of Central California where protecting fish is more important than protecting the lievelihood of local residents, with many cities looking as they could have served as the 'Slumdog Millionaire' movie set.

And you wonder why this state is chronically broke with a 25%+ unemploymment rates in some parts?

I grew up and worked all my entire adult life in Northern California. When I retired early due to health reasons, we couldn't afford to live in California anymore on my small pension! So, we sold everything and moved overseas where the cost of living was affordable and we no longer had to work to make ends meet! We're still here overseas and doing fine!

Some of you shouldn't be as smug as you are.

What happens in CA usually sweeps across the nation.
If anything you should be worried, very worried.

The rich are leaving California. It will be interesting to see who the poor try to soak.

California is an experiment for what is to come to the rest of the U.S.
Yes, what happens here tends to spread to other states. We are not only poor, but this ignorant population just voted to spend 68 billion on speed rail! Now they are looking at tripling our car registration fees, which are already higher than most other states. Can't imagine how this is going to play out - stupid democrats!

How quick the housing crisis and where it originated slips from their minds.

They've been moving east & north to states like Colorado, Washington for years. We see many of the results.

No worries, just like new york or new jersey these states have no fear of bankruptcy cause they know the federal government will bail them out, thet're just too big to fail

No we don't, last I heard we were hovering around the 8th and it's probably lower than that in reality. Smart people and businesses are getting the hell out of here, if they want to prosper.
