400%??? Man you guys try hard. You know what kills me? It kills me that rich people pay billions to lobbyist, advertisers, politicians, etc. to fight the evil spectre of possibly paying millions more in taxes.

And it was 92% without a growing dependent class living on government programs.
Five decades of lowering taxes on everyone while expanding government spending.

Prepare and adapt.

A true recipe for disaster.

Someone, my Wife, makes 25,000.00/yr with overtime, pays 4.8% which is 1200.00 and leaves a whopping 23,800.00 to buy all the cheap living expenses on and invest the rest in stocks etc.

I think to be fair the 1,000,000.00 earner should only pay .12% which is 1200.00 just like my lowly, non paying, moocher that pays not her fair share.

Then we can all be equal and the wealthy person will have an extra 202,800.00 to put towards his investments and say they can only give my wife a .25 cent raise this year compared to that mega .50 cent increase last year.

Ahh, I feel so much better that we are all so even in tax paying now!! Now quit yer B@#$%tching!!

lets see, 20% for federal, what % for state, add in fica, socialized security and all the rest of the crap taxes and see where that 796k goes down to.

I guess you didn't read the story. Rate is 4 times as much as Middle class. 4 times = 400%. Liberal mindlessness at its worst from Leisturm, but thanks for putting it on display.

That is exactly why the rich grew richer with welth sharing as fewer middle clas people where created. Its the same old story of the race to the bottom ;no matter what the incoe level. Heck it wasn't that mnay eyars ago the 19K income would ahve made a perosn lower middle class.

The 23,800.00 goes down too. My wife pays 250.00 for her medical, another 75 for disability, and dental, and life ins. After all taxes and deductions she takes home around 500.00 every 2 weeks.

I bet after the rest of taxes come out for 796K earner it is more than my wifes. I don't have a problem with high wage earners. It seems all you here is high earners complaining about their high taxes and they pay majority of taxes. So what, I am not impressed and could care less how much you pay in. If you don't like it quit your job and live the easy life of a common worker and pay little in taxes. Bet you would be one of the 99% picketing then!!

Back when it was 92%, there was economic stagnation, and a little-known President, I like to call JFK, had rates lowered to the 20% range (forgot exact figure). Economy took off and even more revenue was collected.

It's a thing, I like to call "history".

No, the rate is not 4 times the middle class, it is 4 times everybody... that includes the negative rate underclass. And, what about all the 1% spending on lobbyists, etc. got no comment on that, so you attempt to besmirch my credibility. That will only work on the new poster who does not know anything about Leisesturm.

I came along around the time of JFK and long after him the rate was around 50%, what are you talking about?? As it is our economy is running at all because of people with a net worth of 25M and over. Does this make sense to you? If so, you should be for higher taxes for the wealthy. They are the only ones who have any money!

Well, Bigg Mann, they all claim to be high earners ~ but I personally have my doubts.
