Well agreed,
shifty! I'm pretty sure that our hyper-intelligent body politic, those "poll" watching, vote-sniffing elected officials know only too well that...
1) the frequency of firearms-related violence in this country of over 350 million people is at an all-time low as a percentage of the populace,
But even still, CNN
et al do make it their job to hyper-focus on it whenever possible, so...
2) the Congress & Senate, and even that highly insulated POTUS character and his hench-woman in personal liberty and Constitutional guarantee crime-think, Hillary, realize only too well that to go after ever more onerous firearms restrictions is The Third Rail...
http://eandt.theiet.org/news/2012/se...third_rail.jpg
(PS" uninformed ones here: guess what that third rail "carries"? About 500 V and a bahzillion amps. Enough to fry about 1M people all at once if we could only get the dittzy-headed anti-gunnies to link arms and then have their leader, Chuckles Schumer, reach for it! BAMMMM)
...of political self-immolation.
We have well over, what is it< 20,000 firearms restricting laws on the books right now, all of this ignoring
the simple fact that it's
already illegal to drive down the street firing willy-nilly out the windows at the innocent citizenry.
Ditto for gunning down your homey in the back 'cause he didn't come clean on the last drug deal! But hey: let 'em self- control themselves like that! It only cleans up the streets, IMHO.
But as for that some moron-yutz who didn't keep his loaded home Rem 870 shotgun safely secured behind a locked door?
Now in that case, if some child is thusly injured or even frightened by an accidental discharge, ought to get a nice long prison sentence, for sure.
But as for
all new all-encompassing legislation? Based on the POTUS' personal "feelings"?
Nope.
Tain't gonna happen.
At least not on the watches of literally multi-millions of now-suspicious gun owners. Esp. all those AR/AK types, they having come back from the unnecessary Bush-Baby Warz quite familiar with those types of weapons. We do, after all, have the examples of Canada, Britain and Australia to go by. What a waste of taxpayer's money, that is, unless you want to disarm the general populous before you drop the lost-freedoms boom on all of us.
So sorry, guys: not gonna be allowed this time!
How many here
(Raise your hands now Don't be bashful!) know that, for instance, Remington (among many others, btw...) is marketing a nice camo edition of what is essentially an AR-15, but chambered in suitable deer hunting rounds? With a 5 round clip? One can even get one chambered in the grizzly busting 458 Beowolf or other .450 call cartridges, with enough "Oommpphhh" to drop a charging boar grizz on his teakettle. Not quite what I'd recommend, but the issue is not
my personal prefs, nor is it the personal vote-buying
"But... We gotz to do Sumthin'!" attitude of those elected ninnies out in DC.
The ones who yowl that "
who wants or needs a machine gun to go hunting?" I dunno: who does? And where would I find one even if I wanted to? A full-auto machine gun is strictly illegal, you band of firearms-illiterate gun-haters.
Unlike this fully legal piece. And don't let the hand grip or clip make it into something it ain't, you little girls and boys of the
Chuckles Schumer Anti-Logic Ninny's Club.

Hey: them pictured large-caliber puppies have even worked well in Afghanistan! Talk about stopping an
"insurgent transport vehicle" in it's tracks!
Bammm-Whumppo!
