Think we lowered ourselves lower than some of the world, long before Obama arrived.

That would be Matthew Brodrick. Sarah Jessica Parker has the horse head.

Is Obama "ever" to blame for "anything"? Is he truly as perfect as you left wingers think?

Default I Smell A Total Obama Victory On Fiscal Cliff

Me, too.

The Pubs are snared in their own trap this time, and they don't have any way out. They made this mess. They're now hip deep in it and sinking.

There is one very sound reason to keep cpital gains taxes low as compared to income taxes. Capital can cross borders much easier.

Yup, with the election over and congressional approval ratings remaining in the low teens, folks are pretty tired of the gridlock, even in safe districts. Congress is part of the GOP "brand" right now, and ditching some of the tea party ideologues both in the elections and the committees, is no doubt "sending a message". I imagine we're also gonna see way less legislation from ''social conservatives'' this time around as well.

Hmm, Democrats had a majority for the first two years of Obama's first term and yet the fiscal cliff is all Republicans' fault. No, "Congress" is at fault, both republicans and democrats. Their wasteful spending for decades (many of which Democrats held the majority) is what has ultimately lead to this problem. Raising taxes isn't going to work unless Congress begins making real spending cuts instead of a reduction of the next increase in the budget. The federal government needs to start living within it's means and focus on what their duties and responsibilities are as spelled out in the constitution. Eliminate redundant agencies whose purpose cross over. Eliminate US bases on foreign soil including Japan, Germany, Italy (last I checked WW2 was over), Korea (that's over too), Kosovo/Bosnia, Afghanistan, and Iraq among many others. I honestly feel Congress doesn't want to eliminate foreign bases because they use those bases as a taxpayer paid vacation. Spend a day on the base getting picture taken and then spend the rest of the time on vacation. Saw this happen in Italy. We could redeploy the troops to our souther border where drug gang violence is spilling over into our country and the gangs are supported by the Mexican military.

And Obama is not going to give the Republicans much more than a few small face saving spending cuts. No touching Social Security or Medicare and PBS and Amtrack live on to see another day too. In other words, Obama is finally using his power to let the Republicans know who the boss is. That is what he should have been doing the past 4 years.
What hold does he have, other then to "just say no" and raise everyone's taxes, cut the military, and kill thousands of military contractor jobs?

Boehner's problem is that he keeps thinking 0bama is a normal sort of president, we normal concerns for the welfare of the nation and it's people. 0bama is a cold-blooded politician, and is all about scoring his political agenda, and that is all; to hell with everything else.

Just look at his first term, we had "the worst recession since the Great Depression" and 0bama pushed his agenda. His party owned both houses of congress, and he did not do anything meaningful to spur the economy, he concentrated on his agenda of killing coal, 0bamaCare, green energy, and paying back his political and corporate cronies.

All 0bama had done is managed the economic decline, with social welfare band-aids. He did not add 15 million new jobs, he added 15 million new Food Stamp recipients. He figures as long as the people are poor and desperate, he can mollify them with various welfare handouts. This way they think he cares about them, while at the same time he creates a tax and regulatory climate that creates more Americans who are just like them.
