I'm sorry to see this, I think she would have done an excellent job. It's sad that the screeching from the far right has prevented someone well qualified from taking on such a key position.

Quote:
United Nations Ambassador Susan Rice has pulled her name out of consideration for nomination as the next secretary of state.

“If nominated, I am now convinced that the confirmation process would be lengthy, disruptive and costly – to you and to our most pressing national and international priorities,” Rice wrote in a letter to President Obama first obtained by NBC News. “That trade-off is simply not worth it to our country…Therefore, I respectfully request that you no longer consider my candidacy at this time.”

Bravo!! She should know that by taking a politically-appointed position that she set herself up to take the fall for the President. And that's exactly what she did. Her career ambitions became wholly and completely irrelevant the day she aligned herself with Barack Obama. That's how it goes in Washington DC. Anyone but the President will take the blame for a monumental screw up. Her number was pulled. She lost.

Default Susan Rice Drops Out Of Running For Secretary Of State (She Was Never Qualified)

Let's face it. She wasn't ever qualified for the job. Her actions pertaining to the Benghazi disaster did her in and the writing was on the wall. She lied to the American public to protect the president and keep the truth hidden (It still is) of what really happened. Now we can focus on getting a nominee with foreign policy experience who can deal with the tough issues that goes with the job.

How was she any less qualified than Condoleezza Rice?

She is saddened that when conclusive proof came out that she did, in fact, lie about the assassination of an American diplomat that people complained that maybe she shouldn't be the top American diplomat.

Welcome to Big Boy politics.

I suspect she was a chip in the negotiations.

Remember the two Tea Party Congressmen that got tossed and now Jim DeMint.

Boner and Bammers are also reshaping Governmment.

No good crisis wasted.............

Viewing her image..she appeared to be a fine woman..bright and educated...BUT- one thing came to mind..You can't just appoint someone because they are black. Even Obama has figured this out. Pandering to black America might be coming to a halt. Obama does not need black America anymore.
