Contrary to the mainstream media(MSM) narrative of the NRA 'dying' or losing power and relevance, membership has seen a surge in the wake of the Sandy Hook shooting.
Even I, a devoted NRA member, am staggered at the numbers. 8,000 a day times 6 days since the shooting is 48,000. Even with margin of error these are impressive numbers.
Discuss.
Hardly surprising. The American people have seen the gun bans, the waiting periods, the "assault weapons" bans etc. again and again, and now have found out that the mass shootings go on and on anyway.
They are beginning to realize that government "solutions" don't work.
So they turn to groups that might have something effective to offer.

The NRA offers what effective measures? As gun laws have become more lax, gun deaths have greatly increased... soon to exceed car accident fatalities for the first time in history.
They'll get nothing short of my middle finger from me.
How very American of you... talk about entitlement issues "no compromise, my way or the finger!"
I'd urge you to spend a few days thinking rationally about what can be done, as letting 20 little kids die is not something we should ever accept as a country.

Um what? The murder rate has been going down. It is nearly half of what it was 20 years ago.
Relative to car accidents, its still much lower than 20 years ago.

Gun deaths have not greatly increased especially if we are to consider increases in population and the reason they will surpass car fatalities is simply because car fatalities have decreased.
Note the spike in the mid nineties and decline has nothing to do with any wepons ban, that is entirely due to the violence associated with the crack epidemic.

Interesting, an industry that is heavily regulated (license for all, safety standard for motor vehicles, extensive training for new drivers) is showing substantial decreases in fatalities and accidents?
