If alive today he would be President of the NRA, along with playing centerfield for the Saint Louis Cardinals.

That sounds about right. He'd also be in favor of abandoning any and all compassion - it's overrated. Instead, he'd want people to use affiliation with him to express contempt for others. He'd toss out all that outdated advice from years ago that no longer applies - instead, he'd argue that it's each man for himself.

He did say, "and as for thine enemies who wish not for me to reign over them, bring them before me and slay them at my feet"...I don't think he was that very lovey dovey. Dude didn't like to be discounted.

I'm almost done the New Testament after reading the Old Testament that would seem to describe God more than Jesus, no?

David Kopel has done some interesting work re Jewish tradition and gun control.
To Your Tents, O Israel [Israel (biblical) and the 2nd Amendment]

I figure that Jesus would be an NRA sympathizer but would be largely steering clear of partisan politics.

It was a good article, mostly Old Testament stuff. The Old Testament was a harder read but it was full of action, God was like like Clint Eastwood and Charles Bronson rolled into one.
