For the first time in 30 years, the childhood obesity rate is finally dropping! We can all thank Michelle Obama for making this happen!

For the first time in years, childhood obesity is dropping in some cities, for some children. Why? Are policies for healthy food and exercise for children finally starting to show results?
The whole exercise thing has been going on way before Michelle was First Lady. But, if Michelle is the reason why childhood obesity rates are dropping, and you're happy about that, then a lot of American parents are pretty poor parents.
If you really want to make obesity rates drop in the US, get the FDA to ban high fructose corn syrup which is a fat retaining substance that has replaced almost all sugar in food and drink. Next time you hear anything about "sugary snacks and sodas" the truth is there is no sugar in them at all or mixed in with HFCS

Corn syrup replace sugar when sugar became so expensive.

Due to trade restrictions on imported sugar coming into the U.S. at the world price, the U.S. sugar beet producers have a sweet deal, assisted by their government enablers, who protect them from more efficient foreign sugar growers who can produce cane sugar in Central America, Africa and the Caribbean at half the cost of beet sugar in Minnesota and Michigan.
The disputed report, published in April, said obesity accounts for 25,814 deaths a year in the United States, vastly lower than the 365,000 deaths estimated just months earlier. Mildly overweight people had a 20 percent lower risk of dying than those who weigh less, it also found.
I know. I try to avoid HFCS whenever I can, and am successful almost all the time. If it has HFCS and there is no sugar alternative, either consume in small amounts or not at all. I feel much better now and I think HFCS is disgusting. I drank coke with real sugar in it in England and it tastes so much better and not as fattening. 50p/80¢ a can, that's not expensive. Well, maybe to the bottom line it is
I'm no fan of either Obama, but Michelle has been very active in trying to increase awareness about childhood obesity. She has been involved in many physical activity related events for children, and has spoken often about what good nutrition looks like. I give her credit for the time she has put in, and if obesity levels show signs of dropping, then good deal.
oh thank you thank you govenment for running our lives from cradle to grave. We can't even raise our children without you. All our success is due to you.
and I'm a fan of Michelle Obama too. A very personable first lady.
Sick of looking at her and her husband and wish 2016 would hurry up
