Also, what is your opinion of unemployed people with a family looking for any job they could find, including the minimum wage jobs?
Unemployed, as in laid off from a decent job that required skills?That this min wage job is temporary, and they are looking really hard for something better, and willing to work more hours, or different shifts, do training, whatever it takes to get out of that position. I'm not opposed to them using food stamps to get by temporarily as long as both people are working if there is a spouse, and they still qualify.
Yup, I hear this a lot. Perhaps less effort should be spent demanding things and more spent earning them.
Absolutely and will add....How a countries employer-employee relationship is managed has a huge impact on the entire Countries economy. One of the reasons Germany has done so well, is their Co are upright enough to reject the idea of their people asking for handouts.." on their behalf as though the employee is the beggar and not the owner. They treat their workers very very well.
Employers have become not only beggars but thieves stealing honor from their very worker as well money.
If a person, community, country wants to operate in a state of progress they must act and think in keeping with the properties of progress, and that leaves out absolute selfishness.
If a person or group thinks and acts like a clown, they will start to look like a clown...there are rules in life that no two legged greedy corporate clown made up, I'm firm on that.

What is your opinion about it when the family bread winners can only find work at Mac donald wages?
Why are they only working at McD's when they have a family to provide for? They should figure out a way to get a better job, get another job, or delay having a family until they can adequately provide for them without sucking off the govt.
If a company cannot pay 16 per hour....make them bring their books in to show where they have the right to amass profit "directly from the tax payers pocket without asking"
Theft is the root of all social and economic degradation. A person who gives their working time, loyal dedication, plans... in the best energy hours of the day...."has a right to the best shelter and nutrition reasonably possible" at the direct consideration of the one who gains...the employer, not the general public. The general public is NOT the enterprise that appreciates company profits , period.
This whole thing with min is a hoax. If a company is requiring start up considerations or they are slower operations or a restaurant which tips are significant ok...bring the books in...this thing needs to be properly regulated. Why...because its a grab and go greedy culture with no morals other then..gimmee, gimmeee, gimmeee...the system or any system assumes or requires some moral character ....or...IT WILL NOT WORK

Yeah because it's not limited. Why should people be motivated to get a better job if the freebies keep coming? Some people have the honor to want to get off of it, but that is fewer and fewer.

it's not considered demeaning anymore. The government has heavily advertised it in a good light.
College students are using them while in college and that's the trend now.
Was that the original mission of food stamps ?
Being on a government program is not demeaning and not something to hide anymore or feel bad about.
The government has gone through a lot of effort to remove that stigma.
Many people doing those jobs are not living in poverty. They must be doing something different than the people doing those jobs who are living in poverty. What do you think the difference is?
I don't know. Maybe they have a spouse who also contributes to the household salary. It would also depend on the number of children one has. And cost of living in your community. A single mother supporting 2 children earning $9.86 an hour as a childcare worker is going to need assistance.
