here's a question I've been thinking about recently.

'Can a foreigner become US president?'

Is this possible, because wasn't Arnie the governor of California, and didn't he think of running for office at one point? (Arnold Schwarzenegger from Austria)

perhaps I may give it a go myself, what are my chances?

In a word: No.

Schwarzenegger never really considered it although some people put it forward for about 3 seconds. It would entail amending the Constitutional requirements for the office of President.

I wasn't going to respond to this but decided to before the nutbags from either side did.

You know how to use Google for easy questions?
Qualifications for the Office of President of the United States

Or are you just trying to start another Obama/birther thread?

from the link:

Quote:
no person except a natural born citizen, or a citizen of the United States, at the time of the adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the office of President;
then it says you must be resident for at least 14 yrs - so in that case maybe a foreigner can become president.

if you come to US at 21, then eligible at 35, correct?

Quote:
To be President, not only must you be a citizen, but you must also be natural-born
looks like I'm wrong again.

End of thread it seems
