Great. More brilliant ideas to help us to lose more rights.

It's now going to be more illegal to bring rifles onto school grounds. They are super serious this time.

You know, some sensible gun control might decrease the burden of injury from gun violence on our healthcare system.

"Medical care for gunshot victims in the United States is up to $4 billion per year. Including indirect costs such as disability and unemployment, the costs may total up to $100 billion."

Guns in homes can increase risk of death and firearm-related violence

According to the Washington Post, the working group on gun control led by Joe Biden is considering some of the following recommendations for gun control.

- universal background checks for firearm buyers - That's already in place, Biden needs to wake up.

- track the movement and sale of weapons through a national database - Yeah sure, that'll keep criminals from getting firearms. Another way for government to waste our tax dollars.

- strengthen mental health checks - As we've seen with the Obama administration, they'll say anything that sounds good.

- stiffer penalties for carrying guns near schools or giving them to minors. - Yeah, that'll work well to prevent another Columbine or a Newtown.

The official recommendations will come out later this month, but supposedly these are some of the things being considered.

What do you think? - Biden needs to keep thinking, so far the best solution I've seen is to train and arm teachers.

I saw the head of the American teacher's union on the news and she said most teachers do not want to be armed in the classroom.

Perhaps, but to be fair most of those schools are fairly urban. At one point urban schools were very high quality and safe, now not so much. You have to go through metal detectors practically anywhere no guns are allowed though. Amusement parks, airport, court, federal buildings, etc all have them. Schools that are in higher risk neighborhoods have them because they are in higher risk hoods, it's just something to think about.

And by "sensible gun control" you mean a complete ban on all firearms. We have heard this before.
