The Dehumanization of America | Angel Harris - Academia.edu

I found this essay and was rather impressed by it, despite its narrow focus on crime and the justice system. It gives little coverage to some of the cultural, political, and everyday symptons of this trend. However, I have never seen this topic been discussed in any political forum (much less this one) and I figured why not let's see what everyone thinks.

BS humans are more sympathetic and empatheic to other humans than at any other time in human history. Notice the "pathetic" being the operative portion of those words.

Well, that's naturally what happens when you go too far with a "everyone for himself, winner take all" mentality.

Don't know about less human..But the value/respect for life has gone down considerable. I have theory's as to why but I would immediately be labeled and attacked should I discuss them here...

Then again, a fool causing the problem, will never admit they are the problem. I would rather be a 'pathetic' respectful person than a son of a *****.

Tis not out of the realm of possibilities to be both.

Maybe those who run American society aren't human. People in power could actually be aliens in disguise like in that movie "They Live".

Americans have slowly been dehumanizing by the year.
