Burglars Hit Home of Gun Owner ID’d by Newspaper | FOX News & Commentary: Todd Starnes

Quote:
The home of a gun owner, whose address was published by a New York newspaper, has been burglarized and a state lawmaker said it appears the burglars may have used the newspaper’s map to target the residence.
“Luckily the gun was locked up and no one was hurt,” Sen. Greg Ball said.

Wait, they broke into a home where they believed the homeowner was armed? Are they insane!?!

Maybe they were stocking up for a buy-back event.

Did you read the article?

"The elderly homeowner, who legally owns weapons, was not at home at the time of the burglary."

If it turnsd out that the burglar directly used the newspaper info the newspaper will be in part responsible for a weapon potentially going into a criminals hand and potentially hurting somebody. Their hate for guns and supposed violence of them caused violence.

A burglary in New York? And they went for the safe?

Clearly unprecedented.

Joking aside, I've always maintained that an NRA sticker on a car in the driveway is a great way to announce that "this house contains fairly valuable, portable items that are very useful for criminals and easy to fence", but that's just me, I guess.

As much as I think the News paper editor should be locked up, how do we know the burglary was the result of the publicized address. I'll hold judgement until then. If it turns out they did target because of the Newspaper, they should sue them out and the editor out into the street.

*******ian Totalitarianism. Gotta love that.

That's exactly where I'm at. I think the burglary was coincidental, considering how many registered gun owners there are in the vicinity.

But yes, the editor of that lousy newspaper is a complete and total asshat.

It also says "The owner of this vehicle will only call 911 to have someone come collect your body".

I am waiting to see the reports of the houses robbed where there was no gun since they are easy pickings.
