An Oregon sheriff has sent a letter to Vice President Joe Biden saying his department will not enforce any new gun laws it considers unconstitutional. Linn County Sheriff Tim Mueller, in his letter dated Monday, said politicians are “attempting to exploit the deaths of innocent victims” by supporting laws that would harm law-abiding Americans. The sheriff said he took an oath to support the Constitution, and laws preventing citizens from owning certain semi-automatic firearms and ammunition magazines would violate their rights.
Awesome! Another Sheriff that realize he is the ultimate top dog in his county. Arrest any federal scumbag that tries to interfere in his county as well.

Exactly. Sheriffs are ELECTED. Vice-Presidents are not.
"Unconstitutionality" requires more than a casual take on any subject. It would be violation of oath to assume a personal stance on any subject that is not ruled to be unconstitutional. I guess, elected officials like this sheriff aren't expected to know that.

I was unaware that county sheriffs -- and not, you know, the Supreme Court -- were the ultimate arbiters of constitutionality.
