Don't trust those polls, the BBC and ABC are in a left wing conspiracy with the New York Times to give aid and comfort to Bin Laden. Besides, WE know what's good for the Iraqis way better than they do.
1. Yes, that's correct. Defeating Bush and the Republicans has caused the left to lose its moral bearings and yearn for the victory of our enemies.
2. We certainly know how to provide them with basic services and a modicum of civil government. That they are largely unable to take advantage of those gifts is not our fault. That the enemy is ruthless in terrorizing the civilian population is hardly a cause for celebration -- except to those who wish Amrica ill and our enemies well; i.e., see No. 1.
I found it particularly revealing that 93% of the Sunnis think it is hunkeydorey to attack Americans and coalition forces, since we have been supplying the Sunnis weapons these past several months to fight the Al Qaeda...you know, the Real Enemy.

Says a lot about our country when so many think the notion of peace is the worst thing possible.
“He who joyfully marches to music in rank and file has already earned my contempt. He has been given a large brain by mistake, since for him the spinal cord would fully suffice. This disgrace to civilization should be done away with at once. Heroism at command, senseless brutality, deplorable love-of-country stance, how violently I hate all this, how despicable and ignoble war is; I would rather be torn to shreds than be a part of so base an action! It is my conviction that killing under the cloak of war is nothing but an act of murder.”

"Pacifism is objectively pro-fascist. This is elementary common sense. If you hamper the war effort of one side, you automatically help out that of the other. Nor is there any real way of remaining outside such a war as the present one. In practice, 'he that is not with me is against me.'""
