There are on average about 32,000 firearm deaths per year in the U.S. About 18,000 of these are suicides. And ~ 13,000 homicides.

So on average there are 2,666 deaths due to firearms a month.

Then go start your own thread, this is about gun owners who were shot with their own weapon while being struggling with an intruder......

And the other link talks about subside:

Neither of your links are valid in this thread.
I only cited the mortality data from the 1st study.

The 2nd linked study includes suicide data but I only cited the homicide data that was pertinent to this discussion.

Glad you agree that your links are not relevant to this discussion...

I was responding to a post that said there were about 900 firearm deaths a month in the U.S. and wanting to know what per cent were homicide and suicide.

Then go start your own thread. You cannot provide data from a suicide, and add that to a discussion about gun control.....the person was going to kill themselves anyway....gun or not...

What restriction just dictated by Obama would have prevented Sandy Hook?

Murder is illegal, yet those children massacred and the daily shootings happening still go on.

There is NO reason to punish law abiding citizens from owning their Constitutionally protected guns, by creating regulation and laws that criminals won't adhere to.

Oh yea. We're all a bunch of terrorists. We all want kids to die. We all want bloodshed and murder everywhere.

Truly disgusting, the filth that spews forth from gun-grabber's mouths. Where's the tolerance? The respect for our Constitutional rights?

The anti-gun group will never understand this.....Chicago had 12 murders in the first 10 days of this new year....

"Guns in the Home and Risk of a Violent Death in the Home: Findings from a National Study Data":
"Investigating the Link Between Gun Possession and Gun Assault"

I have a few problems with the above research, this for instance...
"shooting case participants were significantly more often Hispanic, more frequently working in high-risk occupations1,2, less educated, and had a greater frequency of prior arrest. At the time of shooting, case participants were also significantly more often involved with alcohol and drugs, outdoors, and..."

How in the ^(&^ does anyone expect to draw nation-wide conclusions about the general population from a survey of criminals?

Now let me see........................

ban ammo clips with over ten rounds.
improve mental health and health system in general so that people like the Sandy Hook killer might not even want to shoot people.
To be hones all of the measures now being put forward by the President could help cut down violent crime but to absolutely stop massacres like Sandy Hook............ sales of guns must be stricter and restricted to handguns and rifles for hunting........... that is how to prevent these massacres happening over and over again.
When you say punishing law abiding citizens by taking their guns away whar about the law abing citizens who are punished by having loved ones taken away because of the existant useless gun laws here. Punishing the law abiding citzens who have loved ones taken from them is OK but we must not take these guns that some here love more than the lives of people. Not sure you can put losing a gun above losing a child or a loved one.... or maybe you can.
