Abortion isn't just a women's issue: men have tremendous responsibility for the carnage. In fact you can be assured that in most cases, when the fathers give a damn, the women follow suit. Among other interesting findings, a new study confirms that the lack of support from fathers pertaining to the first child - that is, the child already born to the pregnant mother - is the top reason for women aborting a second pregnancy:

"The results of the study indicated that the most important factors in determining the women’s choice to abort a second pregnancy were those associated with the father’s inability or unwillingness to provide assistance in rearing the first child.

Women were significantly more likely to abort if they reported that the father of the child cannot be trusted to 'watch the child for a week,' 'take good care of the child,' 'watch the child when the mother needs to do things,' 'does not support the mother’s way of raising the child,' 'does not respect the schedule and rules' for the child, etc. In addition, it was found that mothers who were married to the father were significantly more likely to deliver the baby."

Not shocked by that. Having to raise a baby without a supportive father is going to put a serious damper on the desire for more kids.

So are women just sleeping around then? If there is no man around how else are they getting pregnant? Sounds like a lack of responsibility on both sides there.

You'd think they wouldn't need to first pop out a kid before figuring out that the father matters.

Anyway, as long as women are the sole decision-makers as to whether an abortion takes place or not, they will continue to bear more responsibility than men for the outcome. With reproductive rights come reproductive responsibilities, and men don't have any reproductive rights.

what makes you think that?

The couple could be married, the woman gets pregnant. husband goes "Oh *&)&)(" and bails.

this happens. This happened to my cousin after 2 years of marriage. She got pregnant, husband was like "I don't want kids". he bailed. she had an abortion. they divorced and she has been single since. she's looking to adoption now.

Ahh....well I would HOPE your cousins case is rare...what kind of man marries a woman and then bails when HE gets her pregnant? Unbelievable...I was 21 when my first child was born I could never think about leaving ANY of my kids....no matter my age or maturity level or anything. I would hope people would discuss kids before marriage...jeez I mean it does seem just a little important.

Absolutely. But in the end, men lead, women follow.

It just goes to to show that front end personal responsibility is non-existent in many peoples' lives. To the tune of hundreds of thousands every single year.

But, for the pro-abortionists, having an abortion is an example of personal responsiblity. They have no idea what personal responsibility on the front side actually means. These people disgust me.
