Namely, James K. Polk. One term got it done and moved on, didn't run again. Grew the nation all the way to California and annexed Texas. Unabashed slave owner. Wrangled with the British again obtaining much of Oregon Territory. And all his name is remembered for is Al throwing 4 touchdowns in a single game. What happened to the good ol' day of democrats pillaging the countryside in Manifest Dynasty.

But land is for the people. I kinda want to read up on Polk because it sounds like he truly was following democratic principles by giving to the people.
Good question as is the same question applied to the opposition. We have 62 years and counting, of leadership crisis in this country.
Well I agree with you on this; on both sides there has been egregious failures, repeatedly in these times.
It's the Inside The Beltway situation, run amuck. But don't get me started; I'm busy adopting a cat today!

If Barack provided for the people, like a good democrat, he'd get us some more land. Needs to quit being a p*ssy and militarize the Arctic for drilling rights. Then, fly back to Hawaii and take back the British territory to US holdings. Force the Puerto Rico inhabitants to speak American, release the National Park system to highest bidder, and finally take another few countries for our use. Continue from where Polk left off, he was democrat.

I have visited his birthplace in Pineville, North Carolina. He had a rough time in D. C. They loved making fun of him. I have friends that descended from this family. Wonderful people.
