I may be blind but I could NOT find 1 singe mention of an "assault weapon" in the article.

Knowing the Sun, what THEY call an assault weapon is NOT an assault weapon which skews their position which makes the articles on guns mute.
They use the same tactic to ban full auto machine guns. My M-1925 that was my great grand fathers in WW-1, made it through the fog of bad laws.
Gangster weapons, was the assault weapon of the day.
