"George Zimmerman's murder trial for the shooting of Florida teenager Trayvon Martin will commence on June 10, 2013, according to the Orlando Sentinal.
Click Orlando reports that Zimmerman was not present at the hearing where the trial date was set."

George Zimmerman Trial Date Set: Trayvon Martin Shooter's Trial Scheduled For June 10th, 2013

The Court also set a date for the stand your ground immunity hearing for 45 days prior to the trial date, plus heard other motions in the case last Friday.

"The judge ruled on several other motions Friday, including setting a date for a hearing on the "stand your ground" self-defense immunity for 45 days before trial. Nelson previously scheduled Zimmerman's murder trial for June 10. A status hearing is set for mid-December"

George Zimmerman Gag Order: Prosecutors To Argue For Motion In Trayvon Martin Case

It appears from the photo published with the above article that zimmerman has gained a LOT OF WEIGHT. This will not be a good thing when he goes to trial as his defense is that Martin was on top of him beating him and he was afraid of Martin. As they say, a picture is worth a thousand words. The jury will be looking at a very, very large man. I would think his lawyer will be encouraging him to lose weight.

Good, hopefully the murderer will be found guilty as charged.

The weight gain should also be an aspect which would make the stand your ground claim, should the defense pursue it, more difficult for the defense.

Amazing how quickly people lose interest in these stories. In August people were going nuts over when the trial would take place. Where did all those zimmerman supporters go?

Yes sir! Nothing I like better than an open mind. I'm especially fond of those who cannot grasp the concept of innocent until proven guilty. I mean, there couldn't be matters in extenuation or mitigation, issues of state law or anything else that might have a bearing on the final outcome, could there? But who needs juries when we have people like this one who obviously knows more than any of the rest of us do at this point in time.

Tell me, did you offer the same admonishment when everyone was hurling epithets towards Jerry Sandusky, long before a trial took place?

Obviously the fact that a trial date has been schedule indicates that that presumption of innocence is still alive and well in this country. Certainly there will be continued hearings regarding issues of state law, etc., until the trial date arrives, and it is not at all uncommon for pre-trial hearings to continue to take place as late as the morning of the trial date.

Everybody is entitled to an OPINION. That doesn't mean it changes our laws or the court proceedings.

Zimmerman is in trouble simply because he TALKS too much. If the State's motion for a gag order is granted, that would be a huge benefit for Zimmerman.

It amazes me how many people seem to believe that the court of public opinion carries with it the same standards as a trial court room. At least when it suits their purposes, in this case, when good, honest, vigilante took care of a hoodie-wearing Negro.

He's in trouble because he's a raging moron. I suspect most here know that he and his wife lied about how much $$$ they had in the bank. He spoke about on a phone that even an imbecile would know was being monitored.

In the Motion for Gag Order, the state claims that Zimmerman's lawyer is questioning the credibility of potential witnesses in this case on social media sites.

"Assistant state attorney Bernie de la Rionda wants the order imposed because he believes George Zimmerman's attorney, Mark O'Mara, has been using a website and both social and news media to influence potential jurors in the racially charged case.
He questioned O'Mara's motives and ethics in publicly questioning the credibility of potential witnesses in the high-profile case."

It would have worked if the trial had occurred sooner. The only thing smaller with folks reflexively siding with Zimmerman than their IQs are their attention spans.
