WASHINGTON (AP) -- The White House is threatening a presidential veto of a Senate Republican measure that would give President Barack Obama more authority and flexibility to find $85 billion in spending cuts this year. The measure is intended to replace the automatic across-the-board cuts scheduled to kick in Friday.
The White House says it instead backs a Democratic measure to replace the cuts with tax hikes on millionaires and spending reductions over 10 years.

At this point, I would walk away from the process and let Obama OWN sequestration.

Barack already owns the sequestration. Veto threats prove that he wanted it all along.

Rand Paul, john McCain, Paul Ryan, Mitch McConnell and so on and so forth wanted it

Your argument for Obama wanting something is that he doesnt support a "reform" that will do basically the same thing.

I don't blame him here. Not that he would have liked my solution either. To cede power to him is foolish. You do not cede power to someone that will misuse it. No, what the GOP should have said is that if Obama doesn't like this, he should demand that Reid does his damn job and bring a budget to the floor for a vote.

Are you conservatives surprised by this? His position on this is what he ran his campaign upon, and Americans voted for his position. Why would conservatives be shocked or outraged? Obama didn't sign the Norquist pledge.

Obama got his initial tax hikes, time for him to compromise. Does he even know what that word means?

Do ya'll really think only one man is working or even in charge in the executive branch? If you do then that's far from the truth...
