Smart guy, common sense, sense of humor, speaks about complicated issues in a way that everyone can understand and relate to, good looking, charismatic, speaks of responsibility and accountability and hope.
He has a lot going for him.
Too soon to tell. Who knows what kinds of issues we'll be facing in a couple of years? What does he know about international affairs? Financial affairs? How thick skinned is he? He seems to be moving towards a run. Time will tell how this (and he) plays out.
What do you guys think? He's a pretty good guy and this is coming from a left-wing independent, I'm not sure if I'd vote for him though.
I am skeptical that he can translate the 15 minutes of fame he got for that prayer breakfast speech into a major political career. He may get a spot in Congress. But probably like Al Franken, trades on his fame to get elected but once there just blends into the crowd. I doubt he'll ever be a nationally known politician. Just kind of getting too late a start in life. It may happen, though. Reagan did it.
Nothing in the article indicates any actual intent to pursue a political career. The man is retiring, and his focus is on the education of the next generation. But guess time will tell...
He's just looking for a spot on Fox News, hence the numerous appearances on Hannity.
Carson already admitted he was looking to provoke Obama at the National PRAYER breakfast ... a bait Obama smartly didn't take and just thanked Carson for his speech instead and moved on:

I appreciate Carson's professional success and work, but Obama is just way classier than Carson.
Yes, sure was classy of him to say "I won, elections have consequences", call out the Supreme Court on a decision in the SOTU address with them sitting right there, tell a Russian that he'd be "more flexible after the election", call Republicans the "enemy" on TV, tell the world America isn't exceptional, etc. Obama is classier? Hogwash.
