A Marine Corps veteran in Wisconsin carrying a concealed weapon stopped a man from kicking a woman to death.

The marine held the man to the ground until police arrive.
The officer told marine put his hands over his head and show them his concealed gun permit.

The marine said "Reach in my wallet in my back pocket."

One should strive to be as descriptive as possible when composing written work.

"Marine stops man" is more descriptive than "man stops man".

The marine's status as a veteran is irrelevant, but it does make the story more interesting and less bland.

He's not a marine, but a former marine. Practice what you preach.

There is no such thing as a former Marine - there are only Marines and non-marines.

A Marine may be retired or discharged but they are a Marine forever.
