You really think these Texas legislators care about safety standards? Do you think they care about the fetuses being aborted? No.
It's about control of women's reproductive rights.
If they cared about children Texas wouldn't be the worst state in the nation for it's rates of child abuse and neglect and deaths from child abuse and neglect. More than 5 children a day die from child abuse and neglect in the great state of Texas. Real existing children who suffer and breathe, not some conglomeration of cells attached to the mother's uterus. Why isn't Texas trying to help those children? They wouldn't be trying to cut back on education, and social services, and help for abused and neglected children. They would be offering more support for mothers and children so that children were not neglected. They don't care about children, at least no existing children. They care about controlling women's rights.
And that's all it is. That's ALL it is and Republicans think that women can't see through this BS.
The North Dakota legislature approved the most restrictive abortion laws in the United States on Friday, cutting off abortion access as early as six weeks into a pregnancy. The bill, HB 1456, makes it illegal for doctors to perform an abortion if a heartbeat is detectable in the fetus—something that can happen as little as six weeks after conception. It passed the Senate by a vote of 26 to 17, and will now head to the desk of Republican Gov. Jack Dalrymple. North Dakota Passes Ban on Abortions After 6 Weeks of Pregnancy | Mother Jones
I don't know WHAT the hell is going on down there. Looks like the Lifer Taliban is out in full force. The Motherhood Mutaween, as it were.
Because the child suffers if they are not wanted. No one pushes abortion because it's horrible. But it needs to be an option.
But if people thought life would be horrible, at least the Dems do, then why do they even have the welfare programs, etc? They must think those programs are really bad.
