Do gay rights activists ruin it for anybody else?

Yes, they do. Next thing you know ... everyone will be asking for equal rights under the law. Shocking! Absolutely shocking!

Anybody else feel this way?
No, I'm the opposite. I'm tired of the people who don't support marriage equality for all. There is no reason for it, it's spiteful & hateful, plain & simple. That is what I call obnoxious.

It's pretty much what is heard throughout gaining equal rights. "If those lousy Negros would just shut up about wanting equal rights...then it would be okay" (actual quote from an older relative before civil rights). "If those filthy liberal commie leftists wouldn't fill those Negros heads with equal rights, they could shut up and get back to work" (The Rum Diaries - Hunter S. Thompson). This isn't new at all, nor is this neutral. It's bigotry that a person is fine with discrimination and the group that is wanting equality is wrong.
Wished I could rep you ten times for this. Good post Emerald

As soon as you use proper punctuation, I will consider it.

It's a huge issue for bigots who see it as losing their last holdout of institutionalized discrimination. They lost the fight against women. They lost the fight against racial minorities. And now they're losing the fight against homosexuals. It's rather nauseating how obsessed they are with something that doesn't affect them in any way.
Typical liberal post.

Coming from the guy who started the thread? That's a laugh!

Why is every defensive post by a gay person or supporter of gay persons seen by you (evidently, since you started the thread) as being "in your face"?

If you said I was fat and ugly, would my response that no I'm not, be seen as getting "in your face"?

I suppose we can say that homophobic bigotry is a major priority for those who refuse to admit that they are the Guardians of Immorality. Such statements, though, are utterly pointless and vacuous. Why not engage the discussion as a mature adult, instead of engaging in such pointless nonsense?

Are you saying it isn't a big issue for those who see it as their mission to safeguard the nation's morals?

No. I agree with them; I think people who are against gay marriage are bigoted.
