I know that ultimately it'll make little difference. But litttle messages are better than none at all.

There is no message.

Even if no one bought gas on 04/15, the total receipts for the week would be the same with everyone buying gas the day before or the day after. The gasoline supply-chain is a lot more than 24 hours long, you know.

Adjusting the day of the week on which you buy gas isn't protesting the price of gas. It's completely nonsensical.

The only message being sent is "I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT I'M DOING BUT IT GIVES ME A WARM FUZZY ... SO THERE!".

I'm sure Exxon is quaking in their boots...

Just go buy a Tesla.
They're really cheap and reliable.

Next you'll be telling me that April has 5 Mondays this year and it won't happen again for 823 years!

You can lease one now.

Tesla Model S now eligible for non-traditional lease with resale guarantee

A little sanity... and real statistics....

Weekly U.S. All Grades All Formulations Retail Gasoline Prices

1997
Apr 7 - $1.248
Apr 14 - $1.244
Apr 21 - $1.245
Apr 28 - $1.240

Just for grins - the lowest point was Feb. 22, 1999 at $0.949 per gallon.

Don't know who makes this stuff up - obviously with these prices, there was no need to even have a Gas Protest Day.

"let's try to put a dent in the Middle Eastern oil industry"...

Are you aware of how little oil we really get from the "Middle East" these days? The greatest part of their oil goes to India, China, and Japan, IIRC.
I'm sure you can find it with a google search.
I would do it for you, but I really don't care!

A Tesla is CHEAP? Or, INEXPENSIVE? Not to me!
Besides, I can just see having to replace the $5000 battery pack in a car that is now worth $1000! (No, those numbers aren't "REAL", they are just for the purpose of demonstration!)

Unless you ditch your car and ride your bike instead, for a whole month, and somehow convince tens of millions of other people to follow suit.

But then the oil companies would just shut down some refining capacity, and gas prices would skyrocket again once the bike-riding ended.
