There appears to be a warning in Putin's statement, which is, this thing will surely go nuclear if it gets started. The Russians and Chinese figured out what is at stake. Obama is curiously silent. Could his silence be an indication that he really crewed up?

Well it was a fairy tale since back in the day the ruskies never let anybody know what the hell happened. Looks like Russia and China better get off the sidelines and fix this "problem" then. It's in their backyard not ours. Putin is probably just mad he had his money stolen by the EU in Cyprus still.

I think Putin doesn't want American presence in his yard.

the worse part about this is knowing that obama will have a hard time taking action. he is ignoring this problem. thinking it will go away. but america has never been weaker than it is now. so now is time for a country to start a war with us. while obama is in office, we will just run away with our tail between our legs.

He's been cutting our arsenal since he's been in office.

Does nobody read newspapers any more? F-22s, B-2s, THAAD, 2 Aegis warships - the Pentagon is putting a lot of the really good gear in or close to South Korea, just in case.

In 2007, the U.S. had 5163 active and deployed nuclear warheads. As of 2012 we had 2592.

Do you really think we're significantly less safe now that we can blow up every major Russian, Chinese, North Korean, and Iranian city only 10 times over instead of 20 times?
