so should they be able to claim welfare or pay taxes?
I dont think your opinion counts. Where prostitution is illegal there is no legitimate record of transactions and no taxes. Should drug dealers be able to claim welfare? How about theifs, bookies, hit men and all the other illegal "jobs".
Undocumented income is not taken into account. Such as buying fixng and flipping cars. Flea marketing, selling drugs, scrapping metal, doing hair, etc.... buying and reselling stuff from government auctions, garageselling and craigslist.
Ever wo der how people have time to do it and no way they make a good living doing it they don't. But add full welfare and foodstamps, plus an extra $2500 a month barely worki g and its not so bad.
