No. Accepting the status quo of having this high level of violent crime is unacceptable. Something must be done. Your idea of releasing the druggies will not make a dent in solving this problem.

your idea of castrating men will likely result in an early death for whoever is dumb enough to implement it. highly doubtful that such idiocy would be tolerated.
Because most of them, in particular those jailed for non-violent drug offenses, aren't even the type of criminal I'm talking about here.
Violent drug related criminals are a different matter. If they murdered in a drug transaction for example they certainly deserve to be castrated (if not executed). There is no excuse to kill another human being except self defense. Once you castrate these barbarians they will lose their drive to even get involved with selling drugs much less killing their fellow human beings.

Again, are you out of your mind?
How would removing sexual inclinations make a difference with engaging in drug activity?
Historically in the US it did happen the SCOTUS only put the qabash on it in Skinner v. Oklahoma. They used to give sex offenders and rapists vasectomies.
is this supposed to be some sort of joke? you live in a paranoid society with such convoluted laws that anyone can be considered a criminal. just look at the ridiculously high incarceration rates. harsher penalties for criminals? i got a better idea: stop creating so many criminals to begin with
Next thing you know, we'll be stoning adulterers - perhaps in public for all to enjoy.
No one gets to do something to another person's body.
