It's not coping humor, Kathryn, this kind of crap surfaces constantly on C-D, and it has everything to do with the "they're coming to get our guns" crowd. Someone gets knifed, someone posts a thread about it, and says, let's ban knives. There's a car wreck, someone posts a thread, we should ban cars. Coping? no. Stupidity? Hell yes.
If you're going to debate gun control, whether you're for or against it, then be honest enough to debate about GUN CONTROL not this kind of back slapping nonsense.
Sorry you don't see the correlations. They're quite obvious to many of us. Of course, it's your right to disagree.
Now - if you'll excuse me, I've grown a lot more curious about that pressure cooker my grandmother left me. I think I'm going to dig it out of the cabinet and try to figure out how to cook black eyed peas in it.
Well, there's your first mistake. You're making sweeping assumptions about what side I'm on and consequently, my views on social/economic/political issues.
A word like '*******' indicates to me that you put no thought whatsoever into what you say...you're just pulling things out of your rear end.
I totally agree. Whenever a poster includes that stupid non-word, I don't give the post or the poster any legitimacy. Funny thing is, using the suffix "tard" would sound more applicable if attached to the word "Republican" being that the word actually begins with R-E. Yes, "Re-pub-tard" has a plausible ring to it, phonetically speaking.

Words like '*******' and 'rethuglican'/'repig'/'repubtard' contribute nothing to civilized dialogue and to me are representative of exactly what is wrong with political dialogue in this country.

Here is a pretty pinkone for you. Quick get it before Bloomberg's Mayors start their next campaign.
Of course two pressure cookers filled with nails, bb's and explosives caused a fraction of the fatalities that one gunman with an AR15 in a classroom of kids managed to exact.

If you're serious about cooking with a pressure cooker, I would advise getting a new one. The old ones can be problematic...unless, of course you like digging the top of a pressure cooker, along with the black eye peas you were cooking in it, out of your kitchen ceiling.

Obviously ridiculous, yes.
