Which sometimes come in the form of mental anguish...
Yes. I work with a lot of Muslims who try to live by their religious dietary restrictions. One kept buying Jello in the cafeteria, thinking it was halal. When I pointed out that the gelatin used could possibly come from pig bones, he was upset for weeks. It really did a number on his head.
It was highly intentional on the franchise owner's part.
Unclear on the concept of legal settlement? The judge isn't involved in setting the figure.
a) tossed....it was not intentional on behalf of the franchise to deceive and interfere with the practice...that needs to be specifically demonstrated.

Of course it did. I was a vegetarian for 25 years. I remember once being lied to when a soup I ate turned out to have Chicken in it. I felt sick and disgusted for quite some time.

He was a simple vegetable stall owner back home in Algeria. He had NO IDEA that jello contained any animal products whatsoever. It's not like the cafeteria lied to him. He just wasn't well-informed. Poor guy. He was SO upset.
Cost a million for a McDonalds franchise I believe. 700K is cheaper than watching yours go up.
Excuse me? Watching mine go up?
